At the Guntur Government General hospital on Wednesday, a 10 days old baby was bitten to death by a rat twice in three days. The infant’s mother, Lakshmi said that when her family asked the staff about their baby’s condition, a doctor came to the ventilator, removed all the pipes and asked to take the baby away.
The father of the baby boy, Ch. Nag claimed that the doctors and hospital were negligent and that has what costed the life of his baby as they have not taken any precautions even after knowing the situation. Both the parents of the baby demanded for an immediate action to be taken against the doctors, nurses and other staff involved in the treatment of their baby.
Meanwhile, GGH superintendent Dr T. Venugopala Rao admitted that the baby had been bitten by rats two days ago and added that he had directed the officials concerned to take care of the baby. He added on to say that whether the baby was bitten for the second time on Wednesday morning needed to be investigated.
Kothapet police station circle inspector D. Venkanna Chowday registered a case based on the complaint lodged by the parents of the little baby.
