15 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been recognized to be under the radar of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly violating the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) and cases may be registered soon against them. The information has been confirmed as per CBI source that there were inimical reports against the NGOs after alleged irregularities were found in their accounts during “inspections and scrutiny. The source also said that they are scouting the details in depth including financial records belonging to the 15 NGOs under scanner. There are 10 other NGO cases pertaining to state police agencies for further action by the Government even as accounts of 23 other NGOs were frozen as part of the crackdown on alleged FCRA violators. The names of the NGOs have not been revealed as the verification are still proceeding.
