A high-profile event addressed by US Vice-President Joe Biden, Secretary of State John Kerry, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has started off with great reverence and it is the  first India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue event. Along with the above mentioned political leaders, as many as 400 business leaders from both US and India have also taken part in this prestigious event. This was initially instigated by  U.S. President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their meeting last year. The main reason for organizing this event is to bridge the gap between bilateral synergy in strategic aspects in business and commerce.

The event which commemorated the 40th anniversary of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC), will see the dual-track dialogue  taking place on Tuesday, and is expected to come out with a joint statement. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and Power Minister Piyush Goyal also spoke at the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in New York on September 24 for a five-day tour of the US.
