Actor Vivek Oberoi gifts Acid Attack Survivor a flat in Mumbai

26-six-year-old Lalita had been the victim of an acid attack in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Fate turned fearful for Lalita in 2012 when her cousins threw acid over her due to personal enmity. Owing to complete face burn, Lalita underwent 17 surgeries.

Actor Vivek Oberoi is known for his philanthropic acts and this time, he gifted a house to acid attack survivor Lalita Benbansi as her wedding gift. Recently, the actor had gifted 25 flats to the families of 25CRPF jawans killed in Sukma attack.

According to reports, Vivek had met Lalita at a function in March where he got to know about her problems and the fact that she was homeless. The actor reportedly promised her then that he will gift her a house. Staying true to his word, the ‘Saathiya’ actor not only attended Lalita’s wedding but also gifted her the key to her new house.

Talking about Lalita, Vivek said, “Lalita is a true hero because she has given a new hope to thousands of acid attack survivors to live their life like a normal human being.”

27-year-old Rahul works as a CCTV operator in Malad. “I am feeling very happy. I had never thought that I would ever get married. He, even after knowing about the truth, still remained on his decision to marry me,” said an overwhelmed Lalita.

Rahul, while praising Lalita’s inner beauty, said her heart is pure and that is what matters the most. “It had always been my dream to do something different. I knew I would do something good. My mother supported me and my entire family. Didn’t know a wrong number would change my life entirely,” he said.
