Last seen in the superhit horror comedy Devi (L), Tamannaah was supposed to play the leading lady in the Tamil version of Queen. According to reports, the project has been shelved now.
Actress Tamannaah Bhatia is set to win hearts once again in Baahubali: The Conclusion and thus, she is busy with the promotions. The diva is a hit in South cinema and was rumoured to be seen in the Tamil remake of Kangana Ranaut’s Queen.
Speaking about the remake, Tamannaah was quoted by DC as saying, “Yes, it got shelved. This happened a little while ago. There has been so much news about it that we never had a chance to say that it’s not happening.”
According to reports, veteran actress Revathy was supposed to direct the film. Like the original in Hindi, this film was also to be female-centric, revolving around Tamannaah. Is she upset then, that the film isn’t taking off? Not quite. “I am doing a lot more female-centric films in the south. Surprisingly after Baahubali, I have got a lot of offers coming to me with women-oriented subjects.”
Queen is a 2014 Indian comedy-drama film directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Madhu Mantena. The film stars Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, with Lisa Haydon and Rajkummar Rao playing supporting roles.
Meanwhile, Tamannaah is busy promoting her forthcoming mega-budgeted film Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Also starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, Baahubali 2 is slated to release on April 28.
