There has been an incident of an Air Indian flight that was landed under emergency due to hydraulic system failure. The reason behind it has been alleged to be because of inappropriate maintenance. Therefore the pilots of the airlines demanded decommissioning of Air India’s aging fleet. One of the pilots has furiously questioned that they have been demanding that the old aircraft be dismantled immediately as the safety of the passengers is being compromised, but no one seems to be bothered about it. There are frequent mishaps but still the pilots are being coaxed to operate these old aircraft at great risk. Now it has happened once again and if they are waiting for a disaster.
It has also been reported that a letter dated March 26, 2015 was written by the Indian Commercial Pilots’ Association requesting the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to look into the flight safety issues concerning the old aircraft (Classic A-320s) of Air India.
