Akshay Kumar URGES the Government to set up Mobile Toilets in Maharashtra!

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Monday said that the government should build mobile toilets every five hundred metres or at least one km across the state of Maharashtra. According to PTI, the Bollywood actor was speaking at ‘Transform Maharashtra’ event in Mumbai and said, “Government should plan (putting up) mobile toilets every 500 meters or one km across the state. It will support cleanliness. It should be supported with an app to locate it (the nearest mobile toilet).”

The actor further said that the women in rural areas of the country faced a lot of problems as there were hardly any public toilets in villages. It must be noted that Akshay Kumar is currently starring in a movie which deals with the issue of the lack of toilets in India. He also cited a dialogue from the movie, “Agar biwi chahiye paas, toh ghar me chahiye Sandaas (if you want the wife to stay with you, ensure you have a toilet at home).”

While, Akshay has been actively involved with public issues in the country and has been quite vocal about it, speaking about the issue of public toilets could also be seen as a PR tactic. The actor had recently won the National Award for best actor for his movie Rustom.
