Recently, we got our hands on the look test of Alia Bhatt for Meghna Gulzar’s next project which is a movie adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s book, Calling Sehmat. It was reported that Alia will be paired opposite Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal.

Earlier, a source close to the production team had told a leading news agency, “He (Vicky) is in talks for the film with Alia. The film needs a performer like him. But he is yet to sign on the dotted lines and figure out the dates.”

After the critically acclaimed Talvar, Meghna Gulzar is flagging off the screen adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s book, Calling Sehmat, which has Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. Alia is known for experimenting with her choices, be it Highway, Udta Punjab or Dear Zindagi and we have seen Vicky portraying a variety of roles from playing a boy next door in Masaan to a bad cop in Raman Raghav.

The director has conducted a workshop for the actors to get in the skin of their character. Alia and Vicky would be given hands-on training on the film and on the kind of performance the director expects from them.

Talking about the premise of the film, the story revolves around a Kashmiri woman played by Alia and she is married to Vicky, who plays the role of a Pakistani Army Officer. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 war.
