Amala Paul to replace Priya Anand in Nivin Pauly’s Kayamkulam Kochunni

Amala Paul, who was part of the magnum-opus Kayamkulam Kochunni starring Nivin Pauly, has opted out of the movie due to date clashes and Tamil actor Priya Anand has been roped in. Priya made her Malayalam debut in Ezra opposite Prithviraj earlier this year.

Priya has been paired opposite Nivin Pauly in upcoming period drama Kayamkulam Kochunni, based on the story of famed highwayman Kochunni, which will bring on screen the life of Kerala’s most wanted thief, who was active in central Travancore during 19th century.

He robbed from the rich and gave it to the poor. The film is being directed by Rosshan Andrrews, best known for Mumbai Police and 36 Vayadhinile.

Priya Anand tweeted from her official handle in response to a tweet. “FYI i wasn’t replaced, i opted out because of date issues, i am not joblessely cooking up stuff

Priya Anand has indirectly hit out at Amala. Tweeting around the same time as Amala, Priya has said, “Tacky Tacky Your Oh Sooooo Tacky”. The tweet is seen a potshot at Amala by the Twitterati.,”

The movie, made on a huge budget, has gone on the floors in Kerala and Sri Lanka. It is scripted by Bobby-Sanjay and the duo spent over two years researching for the project.
