Amy Jackson quits south remake of Queen for Supergirl

 

 

British model-actor Amy Jackson has opted out of Queen remakes that are in the works down south. She was tapped to play a key role that was done by Lisa Haydon in the original Hindi film Queen. However, she said she had to take a pass on the opportunity due to her Hollywood commitments.

“It didn’t work out because of the schedule for Supergirl. It didn’t work out creatively,” Amy told DNA. She also added that she loved Lisa’s character in Hindi and really wanted to be part of the project.

Talking to DNA, the 2.0 actress said: “I really wanted to be a part of the project. It’s a fun, fierce role. I loved Lisa’s role in the Hindi version and thought I could do justice to it for the remake.” She expressed unavailability of dates as the reason for opting out. Amy says, “It didn’t work out because of the schedule for Supergirl. It didn’t work out creatively.” Amy will be playing Saturn Girl in the superhero drama series, and she recently joined the sets for shoot.

Bollywood hit film, Queen, is being remade in all four south Indian languages. Tamil and Kannada versions will be helmed by Ramesh Aravind with Kajal Aggarwal and Parul Yadav respectively in the lead roles. While Telugu will be directed by Manu Kumaran. The Malayalam version which has been titled Zam Zam will have Manjima Mohan as the female protagonist, while the filmmakers are yet to zero down upon the director and other members of cast and crew.

According to latest reports, Amy Jackson decided to pull out to allocate more dates for her American show ‘Supergirl’ in which she will be seen playing the ‘Saturn Girl‘.
