Aparna Gopinath, the theatre artist turned movie actress is playing a pivotal role in the upcoming Nivin Pauly starrer Sakhavu. The team recently revealed some interesting details about Aparna’s character in the movie.
Interestingly, the actress is playing the character Neethi, a JNU alumni who works as a social activist in the movie. Sakhavu is scripted and directed by National award winner Sidhartha Siva. Even though she is not appearing as Nivin Pauly’s heroine in the movie, Aparna’s character is said to a really powerful one. Aishwarya Rajesh, the popular Tamil actress is playing Nivin’s pair in the movie.
Sakhavu is an upcoming 2017 Malayalam film written and directed by Sidhartha Siva, starring Nivin Pauly in lead role.
Aparna Gopinath broke the mould of stereotypical heroines with her debut movie ABCD, in which she played a tomboy and a socially concerned student, Madhumitha.
While Aparna confirms that she is part of the film and is excited to work with Nivin, she refuses to divulge much about her character.
However, a source from the production unit tells us that she will be playing an activist. “Aparna will essay the role of an activist Neeti, who lives in Thrissur. She is bold and smart and a graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. Her father too is a social activist,” the source says.
