Mammootty’s upcoming film ‘The Great Father’ is serving to be a comeback vehicle for Kollywood stars. After Sneha, who is set to return to Mollywood following a gap of six years with the film, Tamil star Arya has also signed up for the project to be directed by debutant Haneef Adeni.
A source close to the production unit tells us, “Arya will play the movie’s antagonist and go up against Mammootty’s character of a family man.”
The source tells us, “Unlike the previous two movies in which he played cameos, The Great Father has him in a full-length role which is as pivotal as Mammootty’s. He is expected to join the sets by mid-September and will shoot for at least 20 days on the trot.”
Prithviraj, who was supposed to play the role, backed out due to his busy schedule. It is the third Mollywood outing of Arya, who entered the industry with August Cinema’s debut project Urumi. My Great Father, which stars Sneha in the female lead, is produced by Prithviraj, Santhosh Sivan, Shaji Nadesan, and Arya for August Cinema. Baby Sara appears as Mammootty and Sneha’s daughter. Reportedly, the movie which is said to be a family thriller depicts the story of the deep bonding between a little girl and her protective father. The rest of the star cast and further details will be revealed soon.
