Baahubali is Indian Cinema’s Pride: Rajinikanth

 

 

Superstar Rajinikanth on Sunday described SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, which has already been adjudged a blockbuster, as Indian cinema’s pride. He even saluted the whole team for their efforts.

India’s most awaited film Baahubali: The Conclusion is finally in theatres and has opened to phenomenal response from fans. The film, which released on Friday, has been shattering box-office records with its collection. As per trade figures, Baahubali 2 has netted a whopping Rs 180 crore in India alone on its opening day.

Since its release, several celebrities including Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Dhanush, Allu Sirish, filmmakers Shekhar Kapur and Mahesh Bhatt have lauded Rajamouli’s unimaginable vision to make something like Baahubali possible.

The latest one is superstar Rajinikanth, who has heaped praises on Rajamouli describing him as “God’s own child.” Rajini tweeted, “Baahubali 2 … indian cinema’s pride. My salutes to God’s own child @ssrajamouli and his team!!! #masterpiece.”

Baahubali 2, meanwhile, created box office history after it netted Rs 180 crore in the theatrical collection on its first day itself. Given that Monday is a holiday, the film will continue its box office riot, creating new records. The film is a sequel to the 2015 film, Baaahubali: The Beginning and is produced with a budget more than Rs 200 crore. The film, produced by Arka Media Works, was released last Friday in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi on over 9,000 screens.
