Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya expired last evening due to a massive cardiac attack. He was admitted to the hospital few days back because of severe chest pain. Dalmiya who is 75 years of age was admitted to the city’s BM Birla Hospital on Thursday night after which he also underwent a coronary angiography. According to hospital officials, it was said that Dalmiya died of internal gastrointestinal bleeding and internal organ failure. In the evening at around 6 pm, his condition worsened shortly after which he suffered a massive cardiac arrest that led to his death.
Dalmiya was unwell for quite some time now and has not been taking part in the day-to-day functioning of BCCI. He took over the presidential post of BCCI for the second time in March of this year after 10 years. He has been ill since then and his health has deteriorated further over the last few weeks.
