Beautiful yet dangerous places in India
Your fingers wouldn’t be enough to count the beautiful places we have in India. Every nook and corner has been crafted so beautifully by nature. Irrespective of the man-made concrete jungle, there are a lot of places that will mesmerize in no time. But some of the heaven-like places has been occupied by criminals for hiding and for their operations. Some of the mater pieces are not so easy to explore. Here is the list of some of such fearful heavens.
Dras, Jammu and Kashmir
‘The Gateway of Ladakh’ reportedly the coldest place in India and second coldest place in the world. The temperature can freeze you out (literally) where it can drop till -40C in the core winters. This is located at a distance of 60 KM from Kargil. Though there is no war right now, the memories won’t leave the place ever. The icy heaven can kill you with it’s temperature and I won’t deny the other threat as well.
Silent Valley National Park, Kerala
Placed in Nilgiri Hills, this Malayali National Park is spread over 236 Sqr KMs. One of the world’s last unspoilt ecosystems has the richest wild life and troubles at the same level. The epics say that the setting of Great Mahabharata was here. The accidental Forest fires, Ganja Cultivation, Cannabis Cultivation has spoilt the reputation of the forest area. The ticket counter of the Park at Mukkali was attacked by a group of Maoists in December, 2014 and the terror didn’t leave that place yet.
This is quite small yet beautiful place with natural greenery, landscapes and gorgeous waterfalls. The place is well known for two very different reasons. One of the reasons is Bastar is where the famous Chitrakote Waterfalls are located and the other reasons is this place has most of the naxal camps and dens in India. The naxals operate hiding below the layers of greenery here and a lot of people lost their lives in their hands there. So, if you dare to make it till there, you can have a glance at the beautiful nature.
watch : Atlantis – The lost Island
It’s not so easy to get till there. The only way is trekking! But when you get there, whatever you see will blow your mind away. This is known as Mystery Lake and some of them call it as Skelton Lake. This lake lies in the lap of the mountain Trishul and there are hundreds of Skeletons found at the edge of this lake which is definitely creepy. But irrespective of all this, Roopkund is a popular Trekking destination. But you might want to stop by at Dehradun, Anthropological Survey of India Museum to read a little about those Skeletons.
Kailash Mansarovar, Tibet
The most spiritual destination you would reach after climbing up over 18000 feet of Trek. Not just Hindus, but also Jains and Buddhists have their own spiritual and religious reasons to fascinate to visit this place. But you know what can scare you? Your eyes would get blurred,, You will feel nauseous, and the altitude sickness. And everyone won’t be able to go trek and visit that massive mountain. You got to be absolutely fit with perfect health and a BMI less than 27 and there is a pretty long list that you have to tick.
Chambal River Basin, Madhya Pradesh
This place has the thickest forest, wide plains and deep gorge of River Yamuna that is basically a place for the criminals and dacoits live and operate. Isn’t it scary enough? Or you simply might haven’t watched ‘Sholay’ yet. But the beautiful river side and the Chambal Sanctuary, makes you dare atleast once in life time.
Kishtwar Kailash Road, Kishtwar
A road that runs between Kishtwar and the base camp of Kishtwar Kailash Mountain exactly above 6451m from surface. It’s a windy road with no guard rail or secure edging for over 100 miles or anything closer than that, all you can see is just a valley that is thousands of feet below. Reportedly known as one of the deadliest roads in the world. Do I need to give you more reasons why is it dangerous?
Dumas Beach, Surat
Third most haunted place in the country but a beautiful sea shore that won’t make you believe any of that. According to the local’s belief, few decades ago, it was a Hindu burial ground and that’s the reason the sand in the beach is black in color and textured.
