After Mirror reported (July 22) that Bejoy Nambiar‘s next would feature Dhanush and Harshavardhan Rane as the leads, we have now learnt that the film has been put on hold. A remake of Mani Ratnam‘s Tamil actiondrama, Agni Natchathiram, the film narrates the story of two stepbrothers at loggerheads over who’s the rightful heir to their father. It was to be shot from August to October.
Now we learn from a leading daily that Bejoy Nambiar had put the film on back-burner, and is working on a Malayalam-Hindi bilingual. As per the daily, a source close to the film says, “Dhanush’s look didn’t work out as planned and his dates were clashing with previous commitments down South. The film has been put on the backburner till these issues are resolved.Bejoy has already moved on to another project, a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual. He is busy with the casting; this film should take off by October.”
Meanwhile, Bejoy is set to direct another film, which is a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, the casting for which is on. The film will go on the floors in October. The filmmaker is also said to be in talks with Farhan Akhtar for a film. Bejoy’s last directorial, Wazir, starred Farhan and Amitabh Bachchan.
