BJP has proved its caliber and metal once again by winning for the second time consecutively in Bengaluru Municipal Corporation elections for 2015. It won in 101 wards and Congress won 75 seats. This indeed is a proud moment for the party, its leaders and most of all for Narendra Singh Modi.
Janata Dal (S) of former Prime Minister HD Devegowda managed to win only 14 seats. Others got eight wards out of the 197 wards for which elections were held on Saturday. This is the ruling party and chief minister Siddaramaiah’s biggest setback since they rode to power in 2013.
Congratulating state BJP leaders and workers for election results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his humble thanks and gratitude to the people of the city in a tweet.
Thank you Bengaluru! My gratitude to people & congratulations to Karnataka BJP leaders & workers for the great BBMP election results.
