Convicted and sentenced in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, actor Salman Khan will be housed in the Jodhpur Central Prison on Thursday night.
A Jodhpur court on Thursday sentenced Salman Khan to a five-year jail term, and a penalty of Rs 10,000 in the 1998 blackbuck killing case.
Salman Khan was convicted by the Jodhpur court today in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Other accused, Sonali Bendre, Tabu, Neelam and Saif Ali Khan have been acquitted by the court due to lack of evidence.
The DIG (Jail) informed the media, “SalmanKhan has been given number 106 & is lodged in Ward number 2. He was made to undergo medical test & has no medical issues. He hasn’t made any demands. We’ll give him jail uniform tomorrow. Multiple-layer security has been put up for his ward.”
Bollywood celebrities thronged Salman Khan’s residence to visit his parents in the city. In Jodhpur, Salman is accompanied by his sisters, Arpita Khan Sharma and Alvira Agnihotri. Salman Khan and sisters were in tears as the judge announced the quantum of punishment.
Producer of Race 3, Ramesh Taurani, Daisy Shah, Sneha Ullal, Malaika Arora and others were clicked at Salman’s apartment. Sonakshi Sinha, who debuted in Bollywood with Salman Khan was in a pensive mood and arrived with her parents- Shatrughan Sinha, Poonam Sinha.
Salman Khan’s younger brother Arbaaz Khan also arrived with a friend. Amrita Arora was also clicked exiting Salman Khan’s residence.
