Calls about bombs placed in 4 flights a hoax

In the early hours today, there was a huge havoc and chaos at the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi. The airport authorities received calls about bombs being place in 4 different international flights. Later it was found that the calls were hoax. However the whole incident caused delay of flights and cataclysm at the airport and its surroundings. The first call was received at around 8 p.m. on Friday about an Air India flight to Bangalore, following which the flight was checked and cleared for departure. Later few more calls were received at 1.30 am on Saturday about bombs being placed in 3 more international flights including  Swiss Air flight (LX 147) to Zurich and a Jet Airways (9W 078) and a Cathay Pacific flight (CX 694), both destined to Hong Kong.

By the time the calls were made, Jet Airways and Cathay Pacific were airborne and were called back. After they were landed, both the flights were sent for checking and clearance along with Swiss Air flight. All the passengers were made too evacuate the flight and the baggage was offloaded. Finally when all the checking and screening was done, it was found that everything was a hoax. The Swiss Air flight departed for Zurich at 6.57 a.m. and the Cathay Pacific flight took off at 8.48 a.m. The Jet Airways flight for Hong Kong could depart only by 9.47 a.m. on Saturday.
