CBI registers new case on former telecommunications minister

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a new case against former telecommunications minister A Raja, along with 16 of his associates and relatives including his wife and brother for minting 27.92 crores worth illegal properties under their names.

According to reports from the Chennai unit of First information Report (FIR) by CBI, the assets under scanner were reportedly hoarded during 1999 to 2010, 11 years period that includes his four ministerial stints with NDA-1 and UPA-1 at the center and three stints as a member of Lok Sabha.
