Kaatru Veliyidai is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language romantic thriller film produced, written and directed by Mani Ratnam. Featuring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles, the film has music composed by A. R. Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman.

Cheliyaa movie hit the theatres on 7th April. The film is shot in Tamil and it was dubbed to Telugu, while Popular producer and distributor Dil Raju presenting the Telugu version under his banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Principal photography of the film commenced on 8 July 2016 in Ooty. The film was shot in Hyderabad, Leh, Ladakh, Chennai and Belgrade, and was completed in January 2017.

Karthi has become close to Telugu audience with Oopiri, Kashmora films. Now, in Cheliyaa we can see a different Karthi in the role of military officer. He suits well in the role and he did his best. Aditi Rao looks promising. Karthi and Aditi made a good pair on screen.

“Cheliyaa” Movie Story Line:

The story of the film is set during the Kargil war of 1999 where doctor Leela(Aditi Rao Hydari) falls in love with a fighter pilot named Varun(Karthi). The romance is kindled right away but Varun’s commitment phobic attitude keeps pushing Leela away from the relationship.

The twist in the tale arises when Karthi is jailed in Pakistan because of the tense war situation.What is the story of Karthi? What happened to his love story? How these two people with opposite characters gel forms the rest of the story.
