Rupesh Samant, Goa Chief in a news agency has been booked on charges of sexual harassment by the police on Thursday at the Panaji women police station. An FIR has been registered on Rupesh. Superintendent of Police Karthik Kashyap from the Crime Branch has confirmed and revealed  the development. He said that an offence under section 354 A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against Rupesh.  Two women journalists, who have previously worked with Samant in the local channel network filed the complaint based on which the FIR was charged.

The two women claimed that Rupesh has been constantly making physical contact and sexual advances. He also has been sending explicit sexually suggestive messages to the two lady journalists. Mr. Kashyap told  a leading newspaper daily on Friday that Rupesh will not be arrested until the investigation is satisfactory and the custody of the accused is required. At present the cops are proceeding with the investigation of the case and Samanth will be questioned on this.

Police are investigating the case and are likely to summon Samant for questioning.
