The well renowned  critically acclaimed Marathi film ‘Court’ directed by Chaitanya Tamhane was on Wednesday selected as India’s official entry to the Best Foreign Language category of the 2016 Academy Awards. From a shortlist of 30 films,  ‘Court’ was selected by a Film Federation of India jury headed by film-maker Amol Palekar.  This news came to light through the announcement made on Facebook by Marathi film-maker Ravi Jadhav, who was part of the jury.Debutante  Tamhane’s film kaputed  Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘PK’, Neeraj Ghyaywan’s Cannes winner ‘Masaan’, Omung Kumar’s ‘Mary Kom’, Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Haider’, M. Manikandan’s ‘Kaaka Muttai’ and SS Rajamouli’s ‘Bahubali’ in the Oscar race. We congratulate the whole the team of ‘Court’ for their hard work and making it through the Oscar race for 2016.
