When the superstar’s of Tamil and Malayalam comes together, it is definitely great news. But we are not fortunate enough to see them both on screen together yet! Today the news is all about Mohan Lal bagged the distribution rights of Rajinikanth’s Kabali for Kerala. He bought it through his company Maxlab. This is the first time Mohan Lal is associated with Rajinikanth’s movie in some or the other way. And this happened for the first time in Kerala that a non-Malayalam movie is bought for such huge amount! Oh I didn’t tell you how much Lal paid for the distribution rights yet! It is 8.5 Crores (According to Manorama).
Till now the highest amount paid for a Non-Malayalam film distribution rights in Kerala is 5.6 Crores for Vijay’s Theri. Coming back to Kabali, the Pa Ranjith’s directorial it is all set to hit about 150 screens in Kerala and 2000 screens around the globe by mid July.
