A suspended government employee with a property business, his wife and son were strangled to death at their house in central Delhi’s Old Rajendra Nagar on Saturday night.
Police suspect the trio were murdered over personal rivalry and relatives of the woman are being questioned.
Locals informed the police around 9am after the help raised alarm on finding the door to the third-floor apartment and the bodies of Jyoti Sawaria and son Pawan in the bedroom. Police found Jyoti’s body, covered with a dupatta, on the floor while Pawan’s body was face down on the bed with his hands tied behind.
Neighbours said they had last seen Sanjay on Saturday evening at a local eatery where he was getting dinner packed for the family.
Locals said Sanjay ran his business from a shop near Ganga Ram Hospital and his wife also helped out. “He had set up the shop after being suspended from the food and civil supplies department. Sanjay worked as an upper divisional clerk at the department.
