Veteran actress and Famous dancer Jyothi Lakshmi, who was well-known for special songs and her skimpy outfit, is no more. Jyothi Lakshmi passed away on Tuesday morning in Chennai. She has been suffering from brief illness for a while. Started her journey as a child actor, she went onto play heroine and followed by special songs. She is highly popular for her item songs, vamp roles.
She acted in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and a handful of Hindi movies making up more than 300 films. Her popular Telugu movies included Pilla? Piduga? In the early 1970s, she was well noted for her leading roles and songs in movies. She also has acted in female-oriented movies and is a trained dancer. Her debut was in the film “Periya Idathu Penn” in 1963. Her sister Jayamalini was also a popular dancer and actor.
