Delhi’s former Law Minister Somnath Bharti’s wife lodged a complaint against her husband and an FIR has been filed against him. Ms. Lipika Bharti approached Dwarka (North) police station in southwest Delhi on Wednesday after four rounds of mediation  failed in three months. However the MLA may not be arrested immediately until a probe is thoroughly done on the allegations by his wife before proceeding with the arrest of the MLA. He denied the allegations and termed them as baseless as he and his wife have been living separately in different houses for nearly 2 years.

Somanath said that this could be a political conspiracy against him as the case was already in pending with Delhi Commission for Women and that he has nothing more to comment on this case as it is personnel. He has been facing controversies ever since the Aam Admi Party came into power and he has been booked for 4 offences.  The following are the allegations-dowry harassment, murder attempt on Lipika and her unborn child, cheating by making false claims prior to marriage and having dogs chase her to hares her. She initially approached the Delhi Commission for Women in the month of June and now she no longer wants to mediate any further instead she wants an action to be taken  by the law enforcement against him.
