Once again there was fresh violence witnessed in Manipur as revolters set fire to a government building and attacked the house of a Minister in Churachandpur district. The agitators set ablaze the old building of the sub-divisional officer at Singngat, 98 km from here, at about 7.30 pm last night, Superintendent of Police Mangkhogin Haokip said. Important files have already been shifted from old building to new building.  Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing’s house was also attacked by the agitators. The house was badly damaged by them on August 31st and again last night, they damaged the boundary wall of the complex and broken the gate.

The agitators were against the passage of three bills that are related to the safeguarding of the primitive people of the state. The ministers on whom they attacked did not oppose regarding the bill passage due to which they have been under attack.
