The Railways will be launching a mission soon that includes tracks renewal, building of railway bridges, better signalling and rolling out of accident-proof coaches and engines and the mission is called Zero-Accident mission as told by the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in an exclusive interview with a daily newspaper. The minister added on to say that once the mission is implemented in full swing, accidents ill subside, speeds and facilities will improve, quality of service will be enhanced and revenue will increase. All this will result in a good customer experience that will also increase significantly.
This has been proposed considering the increase in the number of railway accidents in recent months. Rupees 8.5 lakh crore has been planned for investment by the Ministry in the next five years.
