Once again the Indian flag may fly high at one of the world’s most widely used international micro-blogging site. A native of Vijaywada, Yellepeddi Padmasree, now Padmasree Warrior is heading up for the post of Twitter CEO, according to report by Bloomberg Business. Twitter’s search firm, Spencer Stuart has shortlisted 3 or 4 senior business executives to lead the company and Padmasree is one among them. After Dick Costolo resigned from the post earlier this year, the company has been scouting for the next apt CEO for the past 4 months. At present, Jack Dorsey who is the co-founder of Twitter is the acting interim CEO. Another tough competitor racing for the post is an outsider. He is CBS Interactive Inc.’s Jim Lanzone.

Padmasree Warrior was a former Chief Technical Officer(CTO) of Cisco Sytems and of Motorola respectively. She was born in Vijaywada and did her schooling from Children’s Montessori High School, Vijaywada. Intermediate was from the city’s iconic Maris Stella College.  She then took a degree in chemical engineering from the IIT-Delhi and a post-graduate degree at Cornell University. Her dad,Yellepeddi Subramanyam is an advocate. Forbes listed Ms. Warrior as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world in 2014 and Fortune magazine called her one of the four rising stars on its Most Powerful Women list in 2006. Her brother,  Yellepeddi Ramakrishna who at present resides in Chennai said  that Twitter will soon announce the final name for the CEO post.
