Sathuranga Vettai fame Ishara Nair is in news again. After Sathuranga Vettai, she has signed Engada Irundheenga Ivvalavu Naala under Joseph Kevin’s direction. After a couple of days of shoot, the actress didn’t turn up to the sets. When a popular News paper approached her for an interview, she revealed many shocking incidents she faced in the shoot.
She said that she had to face many difficulties in different forms in the location. ‘During the shoot, the director used to explain the scene to me in a vulgar way in front of everyone. I come in this film as myself, as Sathuranka Vettai Ishaara. In that case, imagine how such a scene will affect my reputation. I cannot even explain how vulgar the scene was. He was trying to touch me while talking to me. He used to push me to the wall and say, ‘Pannu dee pannu dee’. That was not professional. I was feeling harassed and I could not do the movie’ She explained it all.
Ishara said nobody on the sets were even cared when the director’s car hit her. No she is not sure whether it was an accident or director Kevin intentionally did that. Hence, she wondered how she could work in such unsafe conditions. She concluded saying this is the reason she doesn’t feel comfortable to go back to shoot and complete it. She said she didn’t file any case against as she is scared it might spoil her name.
According to the director, there is no scene which is vulgar in his film. He said there is a sensual phone conversation where she invites hero to come over and that leads to a song. Although admitted that he used to call her “vaa dee” and “po dee” and added that it was only because he was brought up in Nagercoil (a small town in Tamil Nadu), and people talk to each other in the same way. Explaining about the Car hit, he said it was an accident. It was a stunt scene and the brake did not work.
Well the director has answers for everything and says he is willing to apologize if his unintended actions and communication skills have hurt her even though he has not harassed her. Kevin even said that she can bring someone with her if she feels unsafe in the location but he requests her to complete the project.
The producers said, she was paid Rs. 75,000 as advance after being signed for Rs. 4 lakh remuneration. They have even claimed that Ishara Nair had given 20 days call sheet but attended only two days of shooting.
