The last Kannada film we’ve seen Juhi Chawla was ‘Shanti Kranthi’ back in 1991. After all these years, debut kannada writer and director S. Ravindranath managed to convince this Bollywood actress to come back on Kannada screen for his latest film ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’. It wasn’t as easy as it looks like. Juhi was only impressed after watching that 2 minute 37 seconds teaser, and then signed the film.
Though the name of the film is borrowed by a 1987’s silent picture of Kamal Haasan and Amala, director clarified that there is no other resemblance for the both movies. It is 100th film for Ramesh Arvind so being made prestigiously under Vikhyath Chitra Productions in association with Pawan Wadeyar Film Factory.
Juhi will be playing a cameo which comes at an important plot of the film and even did a special song in it. At a recent interview inBangalore, Juhi shared her memories of her first film in kannada and how she love the city and a little about her character in ‘Pushpaka Vimana’.
