Kangana Ranaut is currently engrossed with the shoot of Manikarnika: The Queen of Mumbai. Post-shooting for Manikarnika, Kangana will then change focus to a thriller which will be produced by Shailesh R Singh.

However, according to a leading tabloid, there is a tiny hurdle that the team has to cross. Kangana wants the title of the movie to be Mental, however, Salman has already registered the title.

A source from the production revealed to the tabloid, “Kangana and Shaileshji are both keen to title their film Mental. They both think that it goes wonderfully with the story. But when the producers contacted Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association [IMPPA], they realised that the copyright of the name rests with Salman Khan Films [SKF]. Salman’s team had registered the title a few years back when they were toying with the idea of naming Kabir Khan’s then under-production film, Mental. However, they later changed it to Tubelight.”

“They have also requested Kangana to have a word with Salman,” the source added. A source from Salman Khan Films stated, “At the moment, there’s no project that could use the title. Unless Bhai has something in mind, he will allow Shaileshji to go ahead with it.”

Though Kangana had recently rejected the role of female lead opposite Salman Khan in Sultan, both the actors still share a warm relationship, reportedly. Thus, Kangana and the makers of the film have approached Salman Khan’s production house to get the copyright of the title.

The actress revealed, “The offers haven’t slowed but my commercial viability has been affected. The endorsements are fewer, my earnings are down and my plan to open my own production house has had to be pushed. But I have signed three films, have a beautiful house in Manali now and an office on Pali Hill and I’m going to Harvard so don’t write me off just yet.”

“I don’t want my life to become a cautionary tale but an inspiration for young girls and for that I will survive and succeed,” Kangana continued.

While Kangana is currently busy with the last leg of work related to her period drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, a biopic on Rani Lakshmibai, Salman is awaiting his special Christmas release in Tiger Zinda Hai.
