Kerala Thief Who Stabbed Cop to Death in 2012 Held

Sharing is caring!

Kerala police on Tuesday arrested a history-sheeter who was absconding since he allegedly stabbed a policeman to death in 2012. Police said 50-year-old Adu Antony alias Antony Varghese was one of the most wanted criminals in Kerala. He was nabbed from the house of one of his nine wives at a village near Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. Antony is accused of being involved in 150-odd thefts.

Police alleged that Antony had stabbed police driver Maniyan Pillai to death and injured a junior officer during a routine inspection of vehicles in Kollam on the night of June 26, 2012.

Antony started his criminal career by stealing goats from households in Kollam. That practice gave him the name Adu (means goat) Antony. Later, he shifted to stealing electronic devices.
For the past three months, police had been keeping a watch on the house in Palakkad district that Antony visited frequently and finally nabbed him from there.
