After listening to the tales narrated by my father who was part of the Telangana agitation in 1969 and watching the incidents of current time, the director in me gave sleepless nights. I did some research in this angle and met the Telangana and Samaikyandhra activists separately. I had Goosebumps when I heard the way the likes of NTR, Chandrababu Naidu, YSR, Sonia Gandhi, Chiranjeevi, Lagadapati Rajagopal, Venkaiah Naidu, L K Advani and Pawan Kalyan understood the Telangana agitation.
I discovered that the kind of challenges KCR faced were on par with what Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King faced during their movements. As a filmmaker, I decided to bring this history onscreen. The shooting will commence on June 2nd, 2017 the Telangana formation day and the film will release on February 17th, 2018 on the eve of KCR’s birthday.
