The film ‘Udta Punjab’ is flying high with all the applause and all the hype that came on the way. Today (17th June) the film released all over the country and people are loving it already. The actor who played Sartaj is Diljit Dosanjh. He is a new face to Bollywood but is an established actor in Punjabi films. As the film is based on the drug addiction and how government system and politicians are being reason for it, the film indeed rubbed a lot of political heads on the wrong side. They admit it or not, that is one of the main reasons the film was almost banned.

Now producer Anurag Kashyap has brought it to the theatres by appealing it in High court, the politicians are aiming at Diljit. Punjab Cabinet Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike has recently talked about the film and how he thinks Dilit has not taken a fair decision by being a part of a film like ‘Udta Punjab’ which is meant to be defaming the state, according to him.

Ranike said, ‘Diljit Dosanjh is a Punjabi and he should not have been part of a movie which has been made to defame Punjab. He will be projecting a wrong image of Punjab through this movie and he should be ashamed of doing so.

Another Politician, Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann, who himself is an actor, said, ‘What can a SAD minister understand about actors and their work. Now, will SAD ministers teach us what role we should play and what we should not?’ defending the Punjabi heartthrob.

Diljit himself talked about it and said, ‘When I was narrated the script of Udta Punjab, I found their intention right. The film is not defaming the state yet holds a mirror image for the present situation here. I am not ashamed of being a part of it.
