The distribution rights of Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming film Kaabil have been acquired by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s home banner Aashirvad Cinemas in Kerala.
“Hritik Roshan Starring Kaabil will be released in Kerala on January 26 by Aashirvad Release through Maxlab,” reads the latest post on the Facebook page of Aashirwad Cinemas, which is co-owned by Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor.
Seems like Kaabil is set to end Hrithik’s dry spell at the box office. The Krrish actor currently requires a commercially successful film as his previous film Mohenjo Daro turned out to be a dud. Mohanlal’s production house has the habit of selecting and buying the distribution rights of the films that are usually set to draw large crowds to the theatres.
Earlier, Mohanlal had bagged the theatrical rights of Rajinikanth’s Kabali in Kerala for a whopping amount of Rs 7.5 crore beating the records of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning and Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Theri.
The action thriller of the superstar had made tremendous collection at the Kerala box office, and the upcoming thriller Kaabil is also expected to make good business in the state as Hrithik enjoys a huge fan following in Kerala.
