Kamal Haasan has got a busy year ahead. In addition to his debut in politics, latest update Shankar and Kamal Hassan reuniting isn’t big enough that another update has come up to excited us even more. As per the latest news, Nayanthara is being considered for the female lead. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, the actress will be playing the role of a revolutionary.
If the rumours are anything to go by, Bharateeyudu 2 will mark the first collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Nayanthara. In spite of working in the same industry for several years, the stars have never teamed up for a film in the past.
The 1996 film, Indian was directed by Shankar. It also starred Urmila Matondkar and Manisha Koirala. Kamal Haasan played a dual role – that of an ex freedom fighter who decides to take the practice of corruption in hands, and a son, who is at the forefront of illegal doings. The movie went on to become a commercial and critical hit. It won three National Awards.
Nayanthara, who is churning out successful films one after the other, is increasingly becoming the most-sought-after heroine in Tamil cinema.
Kamal Haasan is also wrapping up his other upcoming film Vishwaroopam 2. The post production work of Vishwaroopam is going on in full swing and might see the light of the day in February this year.
Haasan is also producing a project starring his daughter Akshara Haasan and Vikram in the lead roles.
