Nepal did not spend any of $4.1 billion donor money for reconstruction

It has been two months since Nepal was hit adversely by the natural calamity of earthquake but the government did not spend any money on reconstruction that was donated by foreign countries and international agencies.  An amount of 4.1 billion US dollars were donated to Nepal. About 10% of the Himalayan nation’s population require shelter, food and basic medical amenities as estimated by the UN in almost 3 million survivors of the earthquakes.

Govind Raj Pokharel, chief executive officer of the newly created National Reconstruction Authority, said that the government will soon start the reconstruction work from as early as October and the reason for the delay is in approval of plans and concerns about starting the construction work in monsoons is not a good idea.
