From ‘Notebook’ to ‘School Bus’, films showcasing the travails of the common man has always been the favourite for M-Town’s much-loved trio — filmmakerRosshan Andrrews, and scriptwriters Bobby and Sanjay.
In their next project, they are treading a different path, and the team has roped in actorNivin Pauly for their novel attempt. Titled ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’, with the tagline ‘The Most Dangerous Man’, the film will be about the legendary thief of Kerala.
Reportedly, Nivin is extremely excited with the concept and immediately decided to do the project. Earlier, legendary actor Sathyan had played Kayamkulam Kochunni, in the 1966-released movie of the same name.
Director Roshan Andrews, who confirmed the news recently, revealed some interesting facts about the project. Even though Aithiyamala depicts Kochunni’s story, there only a very little detail about his personal life. But, the movie will concentrate more on Kayamkulam Kochunni’s personal life, especially his love life. Bobby and Sanjay scripted the film with the help of a history students’ group, after a 2-year-long research.
The movie which will be produced by Sree Gokulam Movies is expected to start rolling sometime next year. Roshan told the media that the movie is to be shot in Sri Lanka and will have an estimated budget of Rs 12 crores.
The actor who has time and again proved his acting mettle on screen and has come up with a series of box-office hits will however first have to finish shooting for Sidharth Shiva’s Malayalam movie as well as that of Althaf.
Nivin is currently busy wrapping up his Tamil movie directed by Gautam Ramachandran and is reportedly set to act in two more Tamil films, one directed by Surya B and the other by Prabhu Radhakrishnan.
