PM Narendra Modi lauds Akshay Kumar’s Effort Behind Toilet Ek Prem Katha



The film is a satirical comedy film in support of Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a governmental campaign to improve the sanitation conditions in India, with emphasis on the reduction of open defecation in public areas, especially in the rural areas of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took to Twitter to laud Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The film’s trailer showcases how to win a woman’s heart by building a toilet in your house, which is in sync with the PM’s pet project, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

The PM said the film is a commendable effort to promote cleanliness.

“Good effort to further the message of cleanliness. 125 crore Indians have to continue working together to create a Swachh Bharat,” Modi tweeted after Akshay shared the link of the trailer with him.

To this the actor replied, “Thank you so much honourable Sir. Hope we succeed in changing mindsets and truly making a difference.”

Last month, Akshay met the PM to discuss the film’s concept.


Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language film directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey, the film will star Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, with Anupam Kher, and Sana Khan in supporting roles. The film is written by Sidhharth and Garima, the writers of the 2013 Hindi film Goliyon Ki Raas Leela Ram Leela.

Bollywood celebrities also welcomed the trailer Akshay’s new film enthusiastically. Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Ayushmann Khurrana and others praised the concept of the film on Twitter and said that they cannot wait to watch Toilet: Ek Prem Katha on the big screen.
