Preity Zinta had filed a police complaint in June 2014 against ex-boyfriend Ness Wadia for allegedly molesting and threatening her during an IPL match.
Wadia and Zinta started dating each other in 2005. Though the two called it quits in 2010, they remained friends. They were also co-owners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) the team Kings XI Punjab.
The incident in question had taken place at Wankhede Stadium on May 30, 2014 during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. The court released Wadia on a personal bond of Rs 20,000. Wadia’s counsel Abad Ponda confirmed the development. In June 2014, Zinta had lodged a complaint with the Marine Drive police station in south Mumbai. The two are co-owners of Kings XI Punjab IPL team.

According to a senior official, it is 500-odd pages, the chargesheet was filed against Wadia under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
Preity Zinta had accused Wadia of harassment and intimidation on the account that he grabbed her hand and abused her during a cricket match. Reports also suggest that Zinta has produced photographs of the alleged bruises as a proof in her case.
