Priya Mani’s next release in Kannada — Kathe Chitrakathe Nirdeshana Puttanna — is a horror comedy, a genre that is new to her. Even though the film is a remake of the 2014 Telugu hit Gitanjali, and sees Priya take on the dual roles that Anjali did in the original, the actress would rather not divulge much more. “The film stays faithful to the original, barring perhaps minor changes to suit Kannada audiences and, of course, my co-star Komal’s improvizations in terms of his style of humour. Our characters are not romantically linked, even though Komal’s character believes us to be so for a while. But once he and his friends get to know why I keep coming to a particular house, they decide to help me sort out my issues — all in a very comical manner. The comedy is largely reserved for Komal,” says the actress. Shooting for the film was a breeze, says Priya, adding that the film was completed at break-neck speed.
