Superstar Rajinikanth is currently meeting his fans in Chennai at the Raghavendra Mandapam much to the joy of his fans. From getting pictures clicked with his fans to talking about his political aspirations, Rajinikanth has been doing it all. Speaking at the meeting on the first day, Rajinikanth had said that he will make an important announcement on December 31st, 2017 about his political career. Fans of the superstar are now eagerly waiting for the day to learn about the announcement.
Rajinikanth on Thursday asked his fans not to fall at his feet. “Fall only at the feet of God, mother and father. Do not fall at the feet of someone just because he has got wealth, fame and power,” the superstar said on the third of his six-day interaction with fans at Raghavendra Marriage Hall in Kodambakkam here.
Many fans of Rajinikanth fell at his feet on Wednesday.
In the last fans’ meet earlier this year, while addressing a large gathering of his fans, Rajinikanth clarified that he hasn’t completely ruled out a career in politics and that he will take the path if god willing. Talking at the fans’ meet, he had then said, “God decides what we have to do in life at every phase. Right now, he wants me to be an actor and I’m fulfilling my responsibility. If god willing, I will enter politics tomorrow. If I enter, I will be very truthful and will not entertain people who are in this to make money. I won’t work with such people.”
During his five-minute address to fans, Rajinikanth said, “When I was about 16 years old, I went to the 100th day celebration event of a Rajkumar-starrer in Bangalore. When I saw Rajkumar for the first time, I was filled with awe and I could not even see him as he was. Only scenes from his films were playing in my mind. I went and touched him in admiration. So, I can understand your enthusiasm.”
Even though he kept his speech very short, he earned rousing response from his fans for his words. “There’s been so much speculation about my political entry. I will announce my decision on December 31. I’m not new to politics. I have been reluctant because I’m aware of the losses one has to incur in this journey. You need to be careful and strategise to enter the politics. When the time comes to step into the battlefield, you have to win,” he said.
He added that he would love to treat his fans to a lavish non-vegetarian feast. “Sadly, Raghavendra Mandapam is a vegetarian zone. But, soon I will make it happen.”
On the work front, Rajinikanth will be seen in two big budget flicks in 2018 – Shankar’s 2.0 and Pa Ranjith’s Kaala. 2.0 is slated to be released in April 2018 and Kaala is slated to be released in August 2018.
