The Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed against superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Kaala’ seeking to stall the release over plagiarism charges. According to the petition filed by KS Rajasekaran, the petitioner alleged that the makers of ‘Kaala’ had plagiarised his story as well as the title ‘Karikalan’. Despite the claims made by Rajasekaran, the court refused to pass an order and dismissed the case due to inconclusive proof.
Kaala is a Indian Tamil language gangster film written and directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Dhanush. Starring Rajinikanth in the lead role. The film also stars Nana Patekar, Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patil, Huma Qureshi and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles.
The makers of Kaala on Friday announced the new release date of the Rajinikanth’s Kaala, which was previously scheduled to release on April 27, will now hit screens on June 7, 2018.
Dhanush, who has turned producer once again with Kaala, took to Twitter to announce the new release date. He wrote, “Happy to announce that Superstar’s #kaala will release on June 7th in all languages worldwide. #makewayfortheking #thalaivar”
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated follow-up to Robot 2.0, is predicted to release around Independence Day.
