Actors Ram Charan and Arvind Swami, last seen together on screen in the 2016 Telugu actioner “Dhruva“, are likely to reunite for ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s next yet-untitled bilingual outing.
“Ram Charan plays a RAW agent in the film. Arvind Swami, though yet to officially sign the project, will be seen in a key role. Mani sir is currently busy with the release of Kaatru Veliyidai, and hence, has been tight-lipped about this project. An announcement can be expected on this project soon after the release of Kaatru Veliyidai. In fact, Mani sir has already begun work on the pre-production of this film,” a source told.
Ram Charan had told IANS that he is in talks with Mani Ratnam for a project. “Talks are on for this project. It’s too early to comment,” Charan had said.
Tipped to be a bilingual film, the project will be jointly produced by Ram Charan and Ratnam’s Madras Talkies. AR Rahman has already been confirmed as the composer. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised soon.
The source added that the principal shooting of the project will begin from August.
Mani Ratnam currently awaits the release of Tamil drama “Kaatru Veliyidai”, while Ram Charan is set to commence work on a yet-untitled rural-based Telugu drama with director Sukumar.
