READ: Ram Gopal Varma: Amitabh Bachchan was guilty of misplacing his trust in me for ‘Aag’
Ramu, in a series of tweets, condemned God saying, “Since rain is an act of God instead of praying shouldn’t everyone be condemning God, unless they believe all Chennaites are sinners and God is punishing them.”
Varma lashed out at Rajinikanth on 3rd December for his donation of Rs. 10 lakh for the Chennai flood victims. He even targeted a few Telugu actors for donating lesser amounts for the Chennai flood victims. In an apparent dig at Rajinikanth, RGV mentioned the donations contributed by young stars like Suriya (Rs 25 lakh), Allu Arjun (Rs 25 lakh), Junior NTR (Rs 10 lakh) and Vishal (Rs 10 lakh), while comparing them to the iconic star’s donation amount for the Chennai flood victims. He further tweeted saying, “I wonder why Rajinikanth didn’t do anything to stop the rain?“.
In a report by Oneindia.com, it was confirmed that the Tamil superstar is presently not in the country and that he had announced the fund amount without probing the flood situation of Chennai.
