With all the hype surrounded the film ‘Udta Punjab’, we almost forgot there is another Anurag Kashyap’s film that is struggling to get a release certificate. He directed and produced this story of a serial Killer, Raman Raghav while he was a co-producer for ‘Udta Punjab’. Though it a usual for Mr. Kashyap’s crime dramas to stumble at Censor Board, this time CBFC went a step ahead and started suggesting alternatives, which is more irritating for the Film Maker.

Anyway, even Raman Raghav 2.0 was denied a certificate by the censor board citing excessive violence and sex in it. Raman Raghav 2.0 was premiered at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival in the Directors’ Fortnight section. The Film Certification Appellate Tribunal, a statutory body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has reviewed the film and cleared it without any cut.

The tribunal gave its nod suggesting that it should run a disclaimer in the beginning that it is a work of fiction. No other cuts or deletion was suggested by the tribunal’, a source from his team explained.

But isn’t it becoming impossible day by day for the realistic film makers?
