The last time Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor shared screen space, it was for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider (2014). Shahid and Shraddha’s jodi was liked by the audience, but they didn’t sign any more films together. Now, it looks like the two Kapoors may be cast together. The makers of Batti Gul Meter Chalu are in talks with Shraddha for the project to be directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
After the controversial Padmavat, Shahid Kapoor will next be seen in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan’s film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu. While the makers haven’t zeroed in on the female lead as yet, several names have been doing the rounds.
After much speculation over the leading lady in the film opposite Shahid, Shraddha Kapoor was reportedly roped in. Now, according to latest developments, Yami Gautam has also been brought on board for the film.
Confirming the same, Yami took to her twitter handle and wrote, “Super happy to commence this special journey with @kriarj on ‘ Batti Gul Meter Chalu ‘ 🙂 Really excited for this one #Prerna #Shree @shahidkapoor @ShraddhaKapoor”
Shahid too welcomed her by replying, “Great to have you on board.”
“Batti Gul Meter Chalu” will be directed by Shree Narayan Singh, who previously helmed “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”. The project will be co-produced by T-Series and KriArj Entertainment.
Meanwhile, Shraddha is currently busy with the shooting of the film Sahoo, which will see her oppositeBaahubali star Prabhas. Directed by Sujeeth Reddy, the film also features Jackie Shroff, Mandira Bedi, Chunky Pandey and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
