Justin Bieber arrived in India last night for his concert in Mumbai on May 10, and was welcomed at the Maharashtra Capital airport with a host of bodyguards along with Salman Khan’s personal minder Shera. Fans were waiting to catch a glimpse of the star at the venue as well.
Justin Bieber’s Purpose World Tour will be held at Navi Mumbai’s D Y Patil Stadium with an expected audience of around 45,000 fans.
The entry for the concert starts at 2pm and the performances commence from 4pm. However, do keep checking the social media accounts of the organisers in case there are changes.
The production design is will be one of the main highlights of the concert. The main stage will have an unprecedented 600 moving lights and 300 square meters of LED displays.
Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale said 500 security personnel along with 25 officers have been deployed to ensure proper security at the stadium, with drone cameras keeping a constant watch.
From the airport, Justin Bieber reportedly travelled in a Rolls Royce to the The St. Regis hotel in Lower Parel. It will be converted into ‘Bieber’s private villa’ with three floors of the hotel being booked for the artist and his entourage and one elevator blocked on all four days, news agency PTI had reported.
The concert, meanwhile, will be hosted by Elarica Johnson. International artistes such as DJ Sartek, DJ Zaeden and Norwegian DJ Alan Walker, will perform while DJ Sartek will open the concert. Justin Bieber is staying at a hotel in Lower Parel and will tour Mumbai in Rolls Royce vehicle. The concert opens at 4 pm while the entry begins in the afternoon. However, an excited Beliebers (as Justin Bieber’s fans call themselves), have already gathered around the venue.
Bieber is getting a royal treatment during his India stay. He will be treated to cuisines representing 29 states, people close to the organisers of the tour said. After the show, Bieber is expected to attend a private yacht party with live karaoke singing.
He will reportedly spend the next two days of his trip visiting New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.
The singer, moreover, will be presented with custom-made gifts including, an exclusive autographed sarod as a goodwill gesture from maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Swarovski-studded couture by Rohit Bal and an Anamika Khanna-designed floor length chanderi silk jacket for his mother, Pattie Mallett.
